 Doreen Patterson is a supermarket cashier in the Town of Wallkill, in Orange County, and she is the lucky winner of the $19 million pot of the State’s lotto.
She went with her husband, David, an employee in the city of Middletown, and her daughter, Sarah, to receive the ceremonial check from Lottery Director Nancy Palumbo.
Mrs. Peterson decided to accept $380,000 per year for 25 years, minus taxes. She says she isn’t sure if she will continue working at the supermarket, in fact she isn’t even sure what they will do with the money.
She is the first million-dollar winner of Lotto this year in Orange County.
